Welcome Week 2024 is August 22-31!
Welcome Week is the first week of the fall semester at SDSU. More than 95% of new students participate in Welcome Week events — it is considered a “must” for students who want to get to know the SDSU community. Events include involvement expos for students to talk with representatives from student clubs and organizations, Associated Students, greek life and community centers. Welcome Week also features Ask Me! Tents, interactive activities, entertainment, college tips and special events for students to enjoy and begin making SDSU their new home.

Transportation and Parking
There are no specific rules for parking on campus during welcome week. Abide by all parking enforcement rules to avoid getting a citation.

There is no formal check-in for Welcome Week. Feel free to explore the campus and attend events as they fit into your schedule.

Kick off the school year with Aztec Recreation! Learn about the recently expanded ARC, the Aquaplex, the ARC Express, Intramural Sport leagues, Aztec Adventures climbing programs, ENS credit classes, Group Fitness classes, swimming programs, watersports classes and 22 Sport Club teams. You will also meet friendly staff to help you activate your enrolled student Aztec Recreation membership and you can learn about the many job opportunities with Aztec Recreation. Meet new friends, win prizes and be part of an SDSU tradition!
Wanderlust Self-Care
9 p.m.-midnight - Montezuma Hall
Inspired by the Wanderlust festival that takes place nationwide, we are creating a wellness event that goes beyond just the body, to include the mind and soul. Through sound baths, aura readings, guided meditation and more students can explore different elements of wellness and make a plan for their own self-care journeys. While some activities will be higher intensity, like the yoga sculpt class, there will also be space in the “Zen Den” for students to relax and experience various vendors who care for the mind, body, and soul. Additionally, there will also be astrology readings, DIY activities centered around holistic health, and tables with unique foods.

ARC’ll Make Ya JUMP JUMP
9 p.m.-midnight - Aztec Recreation Center Courts
Just like Kris Kross’ll make you JUMP JUMP from the early 90’s, the ARC will make students JUMP JUMP into the school year. The DJ will pump up the volume by playing music styles popularized in the 90’s throughout the venue. Students will have space to pick up some 90’s action movie moves in our Boxing Fitness activities. Our featured activity will be inflatable archery tag, think robin hood meets paintball! The gymnasium will be jumping with inflatable activities like the colorful obstacle course, human foosball, 3D Twister, Axe Throwing Game, and more. In order to keep minds and bodies right for the night we will feature Shakesmart wraps, acai bowls, and of course shakes!

Aztec Football vs. Texas A&M Commerce

San Diego State football opens its 2024 season under first-year head coach Sean Lewis on Saturday, Aug. 31 when the Aztecs host Texas A&M Commerce in Snapdragon Stadium. Student tickets are free and must be claimed in advance by visiting GoAztecs.com/StudentMobileTix from a mobile device.

Aztec Nights
Aztec Nights means loads of free on-campus, late-night entertainment for students. The events are specifically designed for students and take place mostly Thursday-Saturday, from 10 p.m.-2 a.m. the first weekend of the fall semester and continues along with select other dates. Aztec Nights is sponsored by Associated Students and the divisions of Student Affairs and Campus Diversity and Business & Financial Affairs.
