What is Family Weekend?

Thousands of new students and their families will join us for the 26th annual Family Weekend on Friday and Saturday, October 20 and 21.

Family Weekend, one of SDSU’s most time-honored traditions, allows parents and families to get a glimpse into their student’s life at SDSU. Aside from getting time to catch up, tour campus, and eat at your student's favorite restaurants, there will be programming specifically for families. Our signature events include Family Weekend Picnic, Brunch, and Tailgate.

Who’s invited to Family Weekend?

We would like to invite all fall 2023 admitted first-year, transfer, graduate students and their families to attend.

• Deadline to register (without a late fee) is Wednesday, October 4 at 11:59 p.m. PT.
• Late fee begins Wednesday, October 5 at 12 a.m. PT.
• Deadline to register is Wednesday, October 11 at 11:59 p.m. PT.

Where is Family Weekend?

There will be various events happening throughout the weekend, and therefore several locations. Most locations are on campus, but we have other events off campus, like our Family Weekend Tailgate.

When is Family Weekend?

Friday and Saturday, October 20 and 21.

What should I bring?

Dress is casual. Attendees are encouraged to wear SDSU apparel. Please wear comfortable shoes, hats, sunglasses, and sunscreen.
