  • The orientation dates below represent the date you will register for classes once you have completed the pre-orientation guide, which will be sent to you in late May/early June.
  • Not all colleges and majors are represented on all orientation dates.
  • Once in the registration system, you will be able to choose from only the dates still available for your admitted major.
  • Do not make travel arrangements before you have reserved your space for New Student Orientation.
  • If you can travel to San Diego only once for any SDSU event, please attend New Student Orientation in July.

Special Program Dates

*Parent and Family Orientation in Spanish (Saturday, July 8):

If your registered parents or family prefer to attend Parent and Family Orientation in Spanish, please register for Saturday, July 8. We will hold a one-day Parent and Family Orientation in Spanish concurrent with the Parent and Family Orientation in English. If this date is not available when you register, please contact us at [email protected], and we can reserve the date for you.

*Orientación para padres y familiares en español (Sábado 8 de julio):

Si sus padres o familiares prefieren asistir a la orientación para padres y familias en español, regístrese para el sábado 8 de julio. Tendremos una Orientación por solo un día para padres y familias en español concurrente con la Orientación para padres y familiares en inglés. Si esta fecha no está disponible cuando se registra, comuníquese con nosotros a [email protected] y podemos reservar la fecha para usted.

*EOP and EOP Summer Bridge (Saturday, July 8):

Your orientation date will be Saturday, July 8. You will only be able to register for this date in the orientation reservation system. All colleges will be present on this date. Please note: EOP offers a First Contact Orientation. This program is different from the New Student Orientation program.

#Black Excellence Experience (B.E.E.) Program Day (Friday, July 14):

Open to all students and families. We will be honoring and celebrating the Black and African-American culture throughout this orientation program.

**First-Year International Students (July 21 and August 17):

If you have been admitted as a new international student, your New Student Orientation will be divided into two parts:

  • Part I will be hosted via Zoom (online) on Friday, July 21.
  • Part II will be hosted in-person on Thursday, August 17.

**Hybrid Orientation (July 21 and August 17):

If you have extenuating circumstances and are not able to join us in-person for New Student Orientation, there will be limited opportunity to attend a hybrid New Student Orientation. New Student Orientation - Part I will be hosted via Zoom (online) on Friday, July 21 and Part II will be hosted in-person on Thursday, August 17. Please note that limited capacity is available for this date and not all students interested may have this as an option at the time of registration. Please contact New Student & Parent Programs if you would like to request the hybrid New Student Orientation/Parent and Family Orientation.

We highly encourage all students, parents and families, regardless of location, to join us in person in July.
